Can you deploy Enterprise edition fully offline and on‑prem?
Yes. We support closed‑network, air‑gapped deployments with no external connectivity. This is often required in government, defense, and industrial settings.
What security features are included?
Enterprise edition includes SSO (OIDC/SAML), granular RBAC (Role-Based Access Control), audit logs (system/management events ), and action logging (user operations) for compliance.
How does CVAT Enterprise ensure data privacy and regulatory compliance?
CVAT Enterprise is self-hosted, meaning all data stays within your infrastructure. This allows you to maintain compliance with GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA (if configured appropriately), and other regulatory frameworks since no annotation data is transmitted outside your controlled environment.
How do you handle customer data and model training concerns?
Enterprise customers self‑host. Data never leaves their environment, we don’t have access to any customer data. We never use any data to train any models. Customers maintain complete control.
Does your organization have ISO 27001 or SOC 2 certification?
We currently do not hold these certifications. Customers typically mitigate by running Enterprise Edition on‑prem or within their VPC and validating compliance internally.
What is the difference between Community and Enterprise editions?
Community edition provides basic annotation capabilities with manual QA only, no automated quality assurance, no Single Sign-On (SSO), no Segment-Anything Model (SAM) integration, and no built-in AI agent integrations or advanced reporting.
What is the difference between CVAT Online and Enterprise editions?
Online: SaaS helpdesk, no customizations.
Enterprise: Support tailored to private deployment; premium includes engineering resources and feature work.
What’s included in Premium Enterprise?
● Up to 3 instances (dev/stage/prod).
● 100 dev hours for features/integrations.
● Dedicated engineer and priority SLA.
Can we deploy both Online and Enterprise at the same time?
Yes. Some customers use Online for less sensitive work and Enterprise for private data.
Do you support external storage (S3, Azure, etc.)?
Yes, both Enterprise and Online integrate with external cloud storage.
How do you typically engage during deployment?
● Guided self‑management (common): Customer engineer deploys with our instructions; we assist with setup, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
● Full‑service deployment: We deploy directly inside the customer’s environment.
● Managed service with access (rare): Customer grants us admin access; uncommon for security reasons.
What does Enterprise support include?
Enterprise Basic: Dedicated support for critical issues – includes 24-hour email support with an SLA (response within 24h) and a private helpdesk channel for urgent matters. CVAT engineers will also assist with standard maintenance (if they have access to your instance) and provide security updates/reports to ensure your self-hosted deployment stays secure.
Enterprise Premium:Priority support – you receive a dedicated support engineer assigned to your account, with live-chat and even phone support for critical issues. Premium clients also get up to 100 hours/year of consulting or training from CVAT experts (e.g. onboarding sessions, feature integrations help). In short, Premium offers the highest level of personalized support and fastest response SLA.
What hardware resources are required?
Since requirements vary by use case, we provide deployment sizing recommendations based on your specific data volumes, annotation types, and expected concurrency. This ensures you get the right balance of performance and cost efficiency.
CVAT Enterprise is designed to be flexible and scalable, so the hardware requirements depend on how you plan to use it.
● Core Platform: Enterprise Edition runs on Kubernetes, which allows you to scale resources dynamically as your workload grows.
● GPU Acceleration: If you plan to use AI-powered features such as auto-annotation or model integrations, we recommend servers equipped with NVIDIA GPUs. GPU acceleration significantly speeds up annotation workflows.
● Scaling with Workload: Hardware needs scale with the size of your datasets, the number of concurrent users, and how intensively AI models are used. For light use cases, a smaller CPU-only cluster may be sufficient, while enterprise-wide deployments often benefit from multi-GPU nodes.
Can we migrate data from Community to Enterprise?
Yes. We provide migration support to ensure a smooth transition.
We don’t provide a general demo, since every dataset and use case is unique, and a one-size-fits-all demo doesn’t reflect the value CVAT can bring to your workflow.
If you’d like to explore the platform on your own, you can try our free Community Edition – it includes the core annotation features and will give you a good sense of the interface and capabilities.
If you’d like something more tailored, we’d be happy to show you how CVAT works directly with your dataset and your requirements. This way, the demonstration will be relevant to your data privacy needs, team size, and annotation goals.
